UK Parliamentary general election - June 2017

A snap general election will take place on Thursday 8 June.

Elections will be held for Members of Parliament to serve:

  • the Dumfries and Galloway County Constituency
  • the Dumfriesshire, Clydesdale and Tweeddale County Constituency

Candidates

Nominations for election as a member of the UK Parliament for the Dumfries and Galloway County Constituency are:

  • Richard Arkless - Scottish National Party (SNP)
  • Daniel Goodare - Scottish Labour Party
  • Yen Hongmei Jin
  • Alister Jack - Scottish Conservative and Unionist
  • Joan Mitchell - Scottish Liberal Democrats

Nominations for election as a member of the UK Parliament for the Dumfriesshire, Clydesdale and Tweeddale County Constituency are:

  • Douglas Beattie - Scottish Labour Party
  • John Ferry - Scottish Liberal Democrats
  • Máiri McAllan - Scottish National Party (SNP)
  • David Gordon Mundell - Scottish Conservative and Unionist

How to vote

A poll will be held on 8 June 2017 between 7am and 10pm.

The deadline for registering to vote in this election was Monday 22 May. Registered voters are sent a poll card telling them where and when to vote.
