Specialist teachers, supporting inclusion and equality for children with additional support needs from birth-5 years.

Why this service?

This specialist service assists the Education Authority to provide assessment and intervention for children in the early years with significant additional support needs to comply with the terms of Additional Support for Learning legislation.

The EV Service is following the legal framework for the identification and support of the Additional Support Needs (ASN) of children and young people who experience barriers to learning through the Stages of Intervention Framework by offering T2 (consultation), T3 & T4 (assessment/input).

What we do?

The purpose of the service is to provide support to young children with significant Additional Support for Learning Needs and the team works closely with Allied Health Professionals, Parents/carers, Early Learning and Childcare settings and Social Work.

Who we are?

Educational Visitors are teachers who have specialist experience and knowledge of additional support needs.

The EVs work across Dumfries and Galloway, there are four bases - Stewartry and Upper Nithsdale, East, West and Nithsdale.
