Working for Dumfries and Galloway Council

Working for us gives you the opportunity to support our communities to thrive and prosper while providing quality services for our residents.

In our schools

There are lots of roles that ensure the successful running of our schools each day.  Some of our roles include supporting our young people with their learning, providing meals to fuel their bodies, helping to keep schools safe and clean or helping young people to get to school each day.  Each one is important in making sure all our 115 schools operate successfully.

In our communities

Every day, there are teams out delivering services where you live.  From collecting your waste, working in the libraries or Customer Service Centres, registering births or deaths, providing services to young people, looking after the roads and supporting local businesses... Our towns and villages depend upon these vital services being delivered.  We want our local towns and villages in the region to flourish.

Supporting our local people

We are dedicated to making sure that local people have access to the services and information that they need each day.  Roles our teams deliver include supporting local organisations to access funding and grants, delivering care to vulnerable people, answering the phones to help with enquiries, ensuring people access the funding they are entitled to and providing information through meetings or on the website.

Whether you choose to ensure our older and vulnerable people receive the care and support they need, keep our communities safe or support children to be healthy and active you will play a valuable role in empowering and nurturing your community.
