Consultation on the Draft Langholm Conservation Area Character Appraisal and Management Plan
Langholm is located in Annandale East and Eskdale Ward close to the Borders but within Dumfries and Galloway Council Region.
On Friday 24 September 2021, Dumfries and Galloway Council will begin a consultation on the following supplementary guidance to the Local Development Plan
Why we are consulting
Langholm Conservation Area was designated in 1970 with the boundary substantially amended in 1985 to include more of the town centre area. Keeping local historic character is an important part of a community's sense of place and the draft Langholm Conservation Area Character Appraisal and Management Plan supplementary guidance identifies the key features of the conservation area. Local people and statutory bodies are invited to comment on the content of the document.
Have your say
The consultation will last until Monday 8 November 2021
Comments are invited from anyone with an interest in Langholm Conservation Area and may be submitted in writing to ldp@dumgal.gov.uk
Or to Development Planning, Dumfries and Galloway Council, c/o Council HQ, English Street, Dumfries, DG1 2DD.
What we'll do with the results
The comments received will be considered carefully. Amendments based on the comments will be proposed to a future Economy and Resources Committee of the Council for their consideration and to seek approval. Formal adoption of the supplementary guidance will follow, if agreed.
