Simplified Planning Zone Scheme at Hardthorn Road, Dumfries
On February 14 2020, Dumfries and Galloway Council began a public consultation on the following Simplified Planning Zone (SPZ) Scheme at Hardthorn Road, Dumfries:
The consultation will close at 5pm on 27 March 2020.
Why are we consulting
A SPZ is a defined area where the need to apply for planning permission is removed for certain types of development so long as the development complies with the details, conditions and guidance set out in the SPZ Scheme. The details include the setting out of high-quality design and sustainability expectations for proposals in the future.
The SPZ site is located on Hardthorn Road, Dumfries which is a site allocated in Local Development Plan 2.
Development of the site consists of an enabling developer who provides the general infrastructure for the site and the self-builder who is in charge of organising the construction of their own home on their designated plot.
If you are interested in getting involved please contact us by e-mail to register on our Self Build Register. Once registered you will be kept informed of progress and development of the site and to view any plot releases.
Have your say
From now until 27 March 2020, you are invited to submit in writing your views on the SPZ Scheme to: Development Planning, Dumfries and Galloway Council, Kirkbank House, English Street, Dumfries, DG1 2HS or e-mail: LDP@dumgal.gov.uk. You can contact us on 01387 260120.
What we'll do with the results
The comments received will be considered carefully and maybe used to inform the final version of the Scheme which will be considered at a future meeting of the Councils Economy and Resources Committee.
