The Queen's Award for Voluntary Service

The Queen's Award for Voluntary Service recognises groups for extraordinary achievements and commitment to their community. You can nominate a group for an award.

This award is given to volunteer groups to recognise outstanding work done in their own communities such as:

  • regularly devoting their time to helping others
  • improving the quality of life and opportunity for others
  • provide an outstanding service

Winners receive a certificate signed by the Queen and a domed glass crystal. Representatives from the group may also be invited to attend a royal garden party.

Nominate a group for an award

Anyone can nominate a volunteer group. Each group is assessed by a local assessment panel which decides which ones to send to the National Award Committee, awards are then approved by The Queen.
