Local Development Plan Interim Environmental Report

The Interim Environmental Report is a technical assessment of the likely significant environmental impacts of a plan. SEA for the Local Development Plan is a requirement of the Environmental Assessment (Scotland) Act 2005.

The objective is to provide a high level of protection for the environment and to contribute to the integration of environmental considerations into the preparation and adoption of plans with a view to promoting sustainable development. Although the health of the environment is a vital component for social and economic wellbeing, social and economic effects are not a direct focus for the attention of SEA.
