Nursing and Residential Homes Service

Dumfries and Galloway Libraries offer a free service for Nursing and Residential Homes for the elderly throughout the region. We can provide a collection of library stock which will be located in the Home for the residents to use. The stock will be changed at least three times a year.

The service provides books in large print format and talking books on cassette.  Every collection can be tailor-made to an individual Home.  Each Home can specify the quantity and the range of genres required to cater to the needs of their residents eg romances, westerns, mysteries or general fiction.

We will contact each Home prior to our next visit to arrange a suitable time to call, and will provide a printed list of all the items in the collection currently on loan to you.  Each Home is given the opportunity to amend the selection of genres and quantities prior to each exchange.

For further information and/or to enquire about using the service please do not hesitate to contact Anne Rinaldi, Resources Co-ordinator at Library Headquarters, Catherine Street, Dumfries, DG1 1JB Tel:  01387 253820
