Notice is hereby given that Dumfries and Galloway Council in exercise of their powers under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other powers enabling them in that behalf have made an Order to temporarily close the U1 from Monday 2 August to Friday 6 August, 2010, between the hours of 09:00 and 17:15 hours.

The closure will be located from the A713 junction to Crummypark.

The closure will only be in force when identified by means of appropriate traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2002.

The closure is necessary to facilitate essential resurfacing works.

Vehicular access will be maintained to any properties within the closed section of road, as far as is practicable during the works. However, long delays should be anticipated as no alternative diversionary route is available.

Pedestrian access will be maintained where practicable.
