These short, one hour long taster sessions are aimed at anyone wishing to gain a little insight into a variety of subjects without being committed to a longer course. Read more....

  • Beginners Computing - an introduction to the computer and the Windows Operation system
  • Beginners Word - an introduction to MS Word and it's basic functions
  • Create a Greeting Card in Publisher - a session on how to produce a greetings card using a desktop
  • Creating labels - an introduction to creating basic address labels using MS Word
  • Create an E-mail Address - learn how to access free e-mail addresses and communicate electronically
  • Internet - a basic introduction to using the Internet and surfing the web!
  • Files and Folders - learn how to create folders and manage your files

        All the above workshops are one hour long and cost £5 each


  • Working with Digital Photographs - a more in-depth series of workshops on how to download your photos from your camera, save them to your PC, edit them using different but easy photographic software and print or e-mail your results.

        This workshop runs over 3 weeks and sessions are 2 hours long, at a cost of £30

    Removing red eye from your photos

    Cropping and rotating images

    Adjusting brightness and contrast

    Removing scratches and creases

    Adding photos to documents

    Printing photos

Please bring along your digital camera (if you have one) and the cable to connect it to the computer.

Take some photos on your camera to bring along and a photo to scan.


            Mobile Devices
            These workshops are designed to provide an insight into the uses and capabilities of the 
            devices.

            What are mobile devices?

            An Android Tablet is a portable personal computer (tablet PC) that uses the Google operating
            system Android and is equipped with a touch screen.  This 2 hour workshop covers the following:

            *  Where everything is - identifying components/switch/buttons etc
            *  Charging
            *  Switching on/off
            *  Home Screen
            *  Setting up WI-Fi
            *  Setting up e-mail
            *  Using web browser
                    *  Navigating to a URL
                    *  Scrolling and navigating
                    *  Adding bookmarks
                    *  Searching for information, online catalogues
            *  Downloading apps
            *  Removing apps
            *  Using camera features
            *  Safety issues


            An iPad is a portable personal computer that uses the Apple operating system IOS and is
            equipped with a touch screen.  This 2 hour workshop covers the following:

            *  Where everything is
            *  Accessories
            *  Switching On/Off - Wake/Sleep
            *  Home Screen
            *  Setting up iTunes Account/Apple ID
            *  Connecting to your PC
            *  Setting up Wi-Fi
            *  Using Safari
            *  Searching for information, online catalogues
            *  Downloading Apps (Free)
            *  Photos
            *  Safety
            *  Resetting


            The Kindle reader is an electronic device that can store and display electronic books or eBooks.  This 2 hour
            workshop covers the following:

            *  Where everything is
            *  Accessories
            *  Charging
            *  Switching On/Off - Wake/Sleep
            *  Home Screen
            *  Registering
            *  Downloading
            *  Customising display
            *  Using web browser
            *  Free book websites


            Mixed Devices Workshop - this 2 hour workshop covers the following:

            *  Considerations before buying an iPad, PC Tablet or Kindle
            *  Connecting devices using WI-FI
            *  Browsing the Internet using Kindle/Safari/Google chrome/HTML5
            *  Bookmarking, using tabs
            *  Downloading Apps for iPad/Tablet
