Countryside Rangers Service

The Dumfries and Galloway Council Ranger Service is here to promote the countryside, its wildlife, history and heritage. We also enable people to enjoy the countryside safely and responsibly.

We manage several sites across the region for both wildlife conservation and recreation. Each year, Council Rangers are also responsible for a series of guided walks and events across the region covering a wide range of themes. We also work with local schools, community and youth groups to deliver high quality environmental education.
