Licences - Public Processions
The provisions contained in the Civic Government (Scotland) Act 1982 relating to notification of marches and parades were amended with effect from 1 April 2007 following Sir John Orr's review report.
The previous exemptions for traditional events or those specifically exempted by an authority were withdrawn thereby requiring all marches and parades to be notified to the authority at least 28 days before the event.
The only procession which is exempt from notification is a funeral procession.
