The Council will collect bulky waste from businesses including furniture, garden waste and domestic sized appliances. A charge will be administered according to the volume of waste being presented for collection. Some bulky waste will not be collected.

For Commercial waste bulky uplift requests, there will be a minimum £10.75 per item charge levied for items including domestic size appliances for bulky uplifts of up to 3 items. Any request for more than 3 items should be made via the Local Services office.  

The following types of bulky items cannot be collected:

• Items which are hazardous waste such as car batteries, fencing wire, oil, paint, tyres, building rubble, soil, fluorescent tubes etc, will not be uplifted and require alternative methods of disposal.
• Commercial freezers (WEEE)
• Commercial refrigerators (WEEE)
• Commercial refrigerated display cabinets (WEEE)
• Commercial wine coolers (WEEE)

Collections are made on the following days:

Annandale and Eskdale
Monday - Thursday. (No collections on Fridays.)

Nithsdale
Dumfries - Wednesday and Friday.
Out of town collections are on the same day as the normal bin collections.

Stewartry
Collections are on the same day as the normal bin collection.

Wigtown
Collections are on the same day as the normal bin collection.
