Our Council promotes a number of reuse and recycling projects run by community groups throughout the region.

Support for community reuse/recycling groups is also available from the Community Recycling Network Scotland (CRNS).

  There are 7 community furniture re-use projects in Dumfries and Galloway which accept donated furniture which is suitable for re-use. Collection of items may be possible.

  The Dumfries and Galloway Freeshare Group is open to all who want to reuse their belongings by offering them free to others rather than dispose of them in a wheeled bin or at a household waste recycling centre. The group covers the whole of the Dumfries and Galloway.

  Charity shops across Dumfries and Galloway accept clothes and bric-a-brac which is suitable for resale. This helps to raise money for the charity concerned and extends the use of each item.
