Bulky Uplifts

If you have a larger item which you wish to dispose of, which will not fit in your household bin, you can arrange a bulky uplift (charges apply). The Council provides a bulky uplift service for large household items such as old and unusable furniture including sofas, tables, beds, garage doors, bicycles and mattresses.

A charge will be administered according to the volume of waste being presented for collection:

  • There will be a minimum £10.50 charge for all requests for bulky uplifts of up to 3 items
  • Up to 10 black bags of waste can be uplifted for £10.50.
  • Alternatively, Council refuse sacks can be purchased at a cost of £0.50p each and left out for collection on regular collection day.
  • Plastic or ceramic bathroom suites (bath, wc and basin) can be uplifted for £30.00.
  • Individual bathroom items such as toilets and wash hand basins or a plastic bath can be uplifted for £10.50 per item.
  • Items such as a piano will require a visit to determine the cost of uplift.
  • For commercial requests, there will be a minimum £10.50 per item charge levied for items including domestic size appliances for bulky uplifts of up to 3 items.
