Further Information

In August 2004 the new Children's Services Centre extension was completed and opened by Peter Peacock, the Minister for Education. This houses the Cradle Project, offering services from Health, Social Work and Education to pregnant woman and to their babies, until their first birthday. It also houses a crèche within this supportive inter-agency environment, providing child care for 0-3.

A range of after school activities are offered to pupils. Country dancing, netball, basketball, cookery, gardening and football have all been on-going this year. There is an active School Nutritional Action Group in school.

The school grounds have been significantly developed. There has been a big investment by the authority to provide a perimeter fence which has secured the learning environment for all, inside and out. Safer routes to school have also resulted in a new car park and traffic calming measures.

The Playground Improvement Group and family learning have been instrumental in the creation of a "Jigsaw Garden", the painting of playground games, the planting of wildflowers and hedgerows and the new "Adventure Trail".
