Further Information

The primary classes moved into the former secondary school building in 1981 when the secondary transferred to Kirkcudbright Academy.  As a result, we enjoy generous provision of space and facilities both inside and outside the building. School lunches are prepared in our own school kitchen and served in the dedicated dining room.

At the end of P7, pupils normally transfer to Kirkcudbright Academy.  The Authority provides transport for all pupils who travel more than 3 miles to school, and also for those children under 8 years old who travel more than 2 miles.

At Gatehouse Primary we strive to combine the best that modern society has to offer with the finest traditional values.
