DGDesign was previously commissioned to carry out a condition survey of the five harbours owned by Dumfries and Galloway Council and to present a costed asset management regime.

Dumfries and Galloway Council owns and operates five harbours at Kirkcudbright, Garlieston, Isle of Whithorn, Port William and Stranraer. 

The report identified maintenance work required to ensure structural integrity of the harbours. Measures required to comply with legislation were also identified.
