Langholm Academy is a six year comprehensive school with approximately half of its pupils coming from the town of Langholm.
The school catchment area stretches to the English border to the south and north to the boundary with Borders Council about twelve miles to the north. It extends to again reach the boundary with Borders Region to the East and some five miles towards Lockerbie in the west.
The Academy was built in 1962 and was a four year school until 1996. A Sports and Leisure Complex was opened adjacent to the school in 2002 and the main building was re-roofed in 2004.
