Dumfries and Galloway Retail Study 2006
In April 2006, Dumfries and Galloway Council and Scottish Enterprise Dumfries and Galloway (SEDG) commissioned Halcrow to undertake a regionwide Retail Study of Dumfries and Galloway. The report provides an update of the previous regionwide retail study undertaken in 1996 by Hillier Parker.
The Halcrow report is based around the production of a Retail Capacity Model for the area and provides guidance to the Council and SEDG on the future of retailing and the town centre up to 2011 and then to 2016.
