Courses in libraries

Libraries are an ideal place to learn. We stock a wide range of materials to help you on your learning journey. We also provide a range of courses in many of our libraries and publish quarterly calendars giving details of these opportunities.

Computing and Internet Courses

Our three main Cybercentres at the Ewart, Stranraer and Wigtown libraries are all branded learning centres.  We also offer tutor-led courses at Kirkcudbright Library and are happy to provide training for groups and businesses.

If you are unable to attend a tutor led course on a regular basis or if you simply feel that this method of learning is not for you, we offer a blended learning programme for most of our courses.  This means that you can study at a time and place that suits you.  We provide your course materials and give you an induction session and 3 hours one to one tutoring with a learning support officer as well as ongoing support and encouragement by phone or email.
