Head of Planning and Building Standards: Steve Rogers

Development Management
Planning and other related applications processes, Planning Applications Committee, Local Review Body, e-planning, enforcement, appeals.

Development Planning and Environment
Planning policy including Local Development Plan, Supplementary Planning Guidance, specialist environmental advice including conservation, archaeology, landscape, SEA, biodiversity; Sustainable Development Team: Sustainable Development Strategy; Carbon Management Plan; Climate Change Action Plan; Renewable Energy; Carbon Footprint; Energy and Carbon Management: Carbon Reduction Commitments (currently reporting to Director).

Building Standards
Building warrant and related applications, completion and habitation certificates, dangerous buildings, safety at sports grounds, corporate address gazetteer (CAG), enforcement.

Environmental Health
All regulatory services relating to environmental health including food safety, public health , private water supply, health and safety, animal facilities licensing, pest control and dog wardens.

Trading Standards
All regulatory services relating to trading standards including consumer protection and safety, licensing, inspection of premises, equipment testing (weights and measures), tobacco enforcement, under age sales enforcement, animal health and welfare.

Head of Economic Development: Ewan Green

Business and Enterprise
Business Gateway Services, Sector Development: Tourism, Food and Drink, Renewables, Forestry, Economic Intelligence, Economic Policy and Strategy, Screen Commission, Events, Social Enterprise.

Countryside Services
Countryside Access Management, Access Strategy, Countryside Asset Management and Footpaths, Core Path Plan, Environmental Education, Local Nature Reserves and Countryside Sites, Biosphere Reserve, Countryside interpretation and promotion.

Employability and Skills
Key Worker Service, More Choices More Chances Partnership, 16+ Learning Choices, Activity Agreements, Employability Partnership, Employability Contracts, Employer Engagement.

Strategic Projects
Stranraer Waterfront and Town Centre Regeneration, Dumfries Regional Capital and Town Centre Action Plan, CoRES (Gretna, Lockerbie, Annan) regeneration master-plans, business and employment land and property development.

Rural Development
LEADER rural development programme, Local Development Strategy funding (C4C), "Day of the Region" project, D&G Rural Awards, D&G Rural Network events.

Head of Infrastructure and Commissioning: Steven Herriott

Corporate Waste Strategy, Zero Waste Implementation Plan, waste management/recycling PFI contract, waste prevention, refuse collection, contaminated land and street cleansing.

Strategic asset management, programme management and commissioning of roads, bridges, lighting, car parks, harbours, coast protection, flood risk management, harbours, burial service and public open space infrastructure for the Council.

Network Strategy
Local Transport Strategy, Road Safety Plan & Programme, traffic modelling, intelligent transport systems, traffic management and school transport planning

Head of Integrated Transport & Commissioning: Harry Thomson

Sustainable Travel
Statutory Education transport; cycling and walking; community transport; support to SWestrans; D&G Buses; Internal Courier service; Sustainable Travel policies; concessionary travel schemes.

Operator's Licence Holder for Council / NHS D&G; Fleet Asset Management; Procurement and Deployment of Vehicles and associated maintenance; Fleet & Driver Policies, Procedures & Compliance; car pool management.

Business Services
Committee, Finance, Personnel, Administrative Support, Health and Safety, Quality Development, Customer Services, PSIF, Business Planning and Performance, Asset Management Programme and Project Support, P&E complaints handler, Service contact for FOI, Information Asset Register and Data Protection, CBSG rep.
