The Children's Panel Advisory Committee (CPAC)

The main duties of the CPAC are:

  1. to submit names of possible panel members to Scottish Ministers
  2. to advise Scottish Ministers on suitability of persons referred to them as potential panel members
  3. to advise Scottish Ministers on matters relating to the general administration of panels

CPAC Observation at Hearings

One of the CPAC's principal duties is to monitor panel member performance at hearings.  A procedure has been developed which requires CPAC members to complete availability forms; members are then allocated to hearings to monitor an individual panel member's performance.
