Taxicards

The Taxicard scheme allows residents with serious mobility impairment to travel in taxis at a reduced fare. Applicants must have a long term or permanent illness or disability, which prevents them from using or significantly limits their use of public transport.

The Taxicard is available to residents of Dumfries and Galloway who are:

  • Registered Blind
  • In receipt of the higher rate mobility element of Disability Living Allowance
  • In receipt of War Pensioners Mobility Supplement
  • Over statutory retirement age (60 years for women and 65 years for men) and have a severe restriction.

Apply for a Taxicard

Eligible residents should complete a pdf icon Taxicard Application Form [129kb].

A completed application will need to be submitted to one of the addresses detailed on the form along with a photograph, documentary evidence of eligibility and payment.
