This is a 24 hour 365 day response service which works through a special control unit connected to the telephone line, helping you to remain safe in your own home.
Care Call also monitor tenants within Sheltered Housing complexes.
In addition to the basic alarm unit and pendant we monitor:-
Anyone within the community can apply. This service is financially assessed and, depending on your ability to pay, there is a weekly charge.
We also provide the Council's Out of Hours service covering from 6pm - 8am Monday to Friday and at weekends (24 hour 365 days) providing the public with emergency back-up for Council Departments.
What information shows on the computer?
Details about who you are, where you live, your medical history and other relevant information such as who to contact in an emergency.
What does the operator do?
The operator at the Control centre can speak directly to you and is able to take appropriate action by contacting one of your responders, arranging a visit or calling the relevant emergency services.
Who is a responder?
A responder is anyone you choose to hold the key to your home. It can be someone who lives nearby, a relative, friend or neighbour. If you don't have anyone who can do this, or only one, we also use volunteers from the British Red Cross and Guardian Response.
Must I give personal details?
If you do, it helps our operator to assess a situation and to provide a fast and efficient service. The information will be treated in confidence and only used when necessary.
