General extension: Festive hours policy
The Annandale and Eskdale Licensing Board has granted a general extension of licensed hours for the Festive Season. This will allow later closing times for on-sales premises, to 1am on the nights of 24, 25, 26, 31 December 2015 and 1 January 2016 without the need to provide entertainment.
Licence holders will not need to apply for these extra hours. You do not need to use any extra hours: the Board leaves that as a decision for each operator.
If you need extended hours outwith the general extension then you need to apply. Applications will be considered on a case by case basis. You should apply no later than 14 days from the date required to the Licensing Department.
Note: Section 67 of the Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005 provides that:- A Licensing Board may, if they consider it appropriate to do so in connection with a special event of local or national significance, make a determination extending licensed hours by such period as the Board may specify in the determination.
