Further Information

Although Sheuchan School has been present in Stranraer for over a hundred years the present building was built in the early 1990's and was officially re-opened in 1994. The school building is very modern with spacious classrooms. It has a large playground area with school playing fields, an assault course, garden and seating areas for outdoor learning.

Over the past few years a lot of development work has been undertaken to develop Personal Learning Plans for literacy and numeracy. These plans are used in school to help the children establish their next steps in learning and are shared with parents on a regular basis.

The school has a very active P.T.A which meets regularly to discuss ways in which they can support the school. It also has a very supportive Parent Council who are keen to work with the school and involve all parents in their child's education.
