There is a 60 place nursery for 3 and 4 year olds, a Support Base for pupils with special educational needs and 8 classes for pupils of age 5-12 (Primary 1 to 7).

The school was built in 1965 replacing an older building nearby. There has been a school in the Penninghame area for over one hundred years.
