Tuition at home can be requested when a child is absent from school for an extended period. Home tuition is provided by qualified teacher(s) either from your child's school and/or from our teaching supply list.

The local authority Psychological Service is an advisory service within Schools Services offering support to children, their families and carers, and schools in Dumfries and Galloway. Psychologists can work with children and young people from 0-24 years of age but the main focus is on children of school age.

Additional Support Needs - Assessment
Under law, parents have a right to request the Education Authority to assess if their child has additional support needs, and/or if their child needs a Co-ordinated Support Plan. Such requests can be made via the child's school in the first instance to get their views and advice.
