Community Safety Teams are a new Council service set up to improve Community Safety, make people feel safer and more secure, respond to local issues, tackle incidents of antisocial behaviour, and enforce environmental issues, conduct high visibility patrols across Dumfries and Galloway.

It should be noted that the Community Safety Teams are capable of issuing Fixed Penalty Notices.

What can we do to help?

The Community Safety Teams are responsible for:

• Antisocial Behaviour Case Management 
• Investigating and enforcing penalties for dog fouling 
• Enforcing penalties for fly-tipping
• Enforcing penalties for littering 
• Removing abandoned vehicles 
• Recovering discarded needles
• Investigating domestic noise nuisance 
• Conducting Council car park inspections and enforcing penalties 
• Providing a mediation service

In the event of a major incident involving community resilience Dumfries and Galloway Community Safety Team would direct you to the Dumfries and Galloway Major Emergency Scheme and the Emergency Planning Team. 

Where are we based?

We are conveniently situated at four locations across the region:
