Curriculum for Excellence Developments in Dumfries and Galloway

Dumfries and Galloway's strategy for Curriculum for Excellence Moving Forward in March 2010 indicated twelve themes for development taking into account the Association of Directors of Education Scotland (ADES) implementation timeline. Good progress has been made by the authority and schools in meeting these priorities.

Further guidance was issued by the Curriculum for Excellence Management Board in June 2011, outlining the seven key themes:  Assessment, Broad General Education, Senior Phase, Developing Literacy & Numeracy Skills, Professional Development, Leadership and Communication & Engagement as a focus for development in 2011/12. This along with evaluations from engagement and training sessions has informed our current strategy, giving a local focus to the national picture.

You can also access further documentation below which will give you a further insight into CfE implementation in Dumfries and Galloway.

We welcome practitioners and other relevant staff members from other local authorities to access Dumfries & Galloway GLOW groups, and this can be done upon request. For further information, please contact us using the e-mail curriulumforexcellence@dumgal.gov.uk.
