Main Issues Report

The Main Issues Report Consultation ran from March 18th 2011 to May 13th 2011. Details of the consultation process are detailed below.

Representations received to the Main Issues Report

Nearly 600 representations were received to the Main Issues Report consultation; a summary of those representations is contained in the attachment below. If you want to view any of the representations in detail please call 030 33 33 3000 and ask for the Local Development Plan Coordinator.

Summary of all MIR representations. All of the representations received to the Main Issues Report will be reported to Committee when decisions are taken on the Proposed Plan. At this stage no decisions have been made on these matters.

How was public consultation on the Main Issues Report carried out?


Comments were invited from all members of the public and other interested parties. Comments could be sent in via the online representation form, by email or by letter. All well as statutory advertisements and other press releases placed in local newspapers, local radio advertisements and email and postal notifications, the following sessions were also held to increase public awareness and invite consultation responses.

Drop-in Sessions

Drop-in sessions were held in: Annan, Castle Douglas, Dalbeattie, Dumfries, Isle of Whithorn, Kirkcudbright, Langholm, Lockerbie, Moffat, New Galloway, Newton Stewart, Sanquhar, Stranraer, Thornhill and Wigtown; where members of the public were able to find out more information, ask questions or make comments
